Robert's background

Robert Flora is a classical singer living in Philadelphia. He obtained his Masters of Arts in Voice degree from Binghamton University, and his undergraduate degree from Mansfield University. He was a Resident Artist at Tri-cities Opera's Young Artist Program in 2022. While there, he covered the role of Dandini in Tri-Cities production La Cenerentola. He has also performed the role of Papageno in Binghamton University's production of Die Zauberflöte.

Each summer, Robert has been performing with the Delaware Valley Opera Company based in New York. With this company he has sung in a number of complementario and main stage roles, along with children's operas. These include Dulcamara/Wolf from Pinocchio, Elder Gleaton from Susanna, and and three separate Daters from Speed Dating Tonight. In 2024, he sung the role of Belcore with New Jersey Lyric Opera's production of L'elisir d'amore. Recently, he studied the role of John in Opera On Tap's production of Alice Tierney by a local composer.

Along with his professional stage work, Robert also sings with professional choirs. Just this summer, he participated in singing abroad in Scotland and England with these groups. One group is the choir of the Church of the Redeemer in Ardmore, PA. He sings with this choir as a Section Leader.

Lastly, Robert is a music educator, and an Art's Business Assistant. He assists with a local non-profit company, Liberty City Arts, in Philadelphia. He also teaches an elementary level vocal group called The Cherubs.
